Professional Value

When one’s personal and professional values are in conflict with those of the

centre, the teacher should first seek to work out possible solutions to resolve

the conflict. When no form of agreement is reached that could result in a

change of policy or practice, the early childhood professional should not bear

the conflict and carry on working with the children as it would not be in his/

her best interest nor the children’s. The educator will only flourish in an early

childhood setting where his/her professional values are aligned with that of the

centre.
